AT&T and Sun Microsystems tie up

AT&T and Sun Microsystems will jointly market and sell AT&T managed services, including hosting an array of other services based on Sun technology. As per the agreement, the services will be sold by the direct sales forces of the two companies as well as through value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors (ISVs), application-development firms and systems-integration firms.

The two companies also will co-market each other’s professional services. The AT&T-Sun alliance will focus on the most important customer IT needs - increasing operational efficiencies, improving strategic advantage and raising customer satisfaction.

AT&T will provide a range of managed services, including hosting, security and network management, as well as support for those services, while Sun will provide the technical consulting services to architect integrated solutions that incorporate the technologies of both the organisations.
