E-band wireless 100Mbps radios offered
for free trial
UNITED
STATES -- ElvaLink LLC, a supplier of millimeter wave
wireless network equipment, recently announced the free
trial of its state-of-the-art 100Mbps radio links for
E-band (92-95GHz).
The
broadband wireless communication landscape was changed
fundamentally when on 4 November 2003, FCC made available
the 71-76GHz, 81-86GHz, and 92-95GHz bands for commercial
wireless broadband communications. First, the new spectrum
is located at the highest frequencies ever licensed
by the FCC, and these sub-bands provide a wide 12.9GHz
spectrum width to build high-speed data transmission,
with speeds reaching up into gigabits per second. Second,
E-band is licensed for point-to-point links, which makes
the number of potential licenses in the same territory
virtually countless. The pencil-beam wireless E-band
links densely cover the territory and cross one another
without interference.
According
to the new FCC rules for E-band, many network operators
can apply for frequency allocation licenses for the
same city or state/county. The simplified rules for
E-band application paperwork make this process much
easier than before.
The
E-band ElvaLink PPC-100 Series digital radios provide
full-duplex Fast Ethernet 100Mbps connectivity to a
variety of applications for carrier-class cellular infrastructure
and broadband wireless networks. An IP-packet transparent
ElvaLink 100Mbps full duplex wireless bridge can be
easily deployed in point-to-point topology using either
100BaseTx or the optional 100BaseFx fiber-optic connector.
This state-of-the-art turnkey 92-95GHz link is intended
for a variety of applications in telecom markets, including
cellular and Wi-Fi operators, ISPs, other telecom operators
and services, government agencies, college and university
campuses and free space optics backup for foggy areas.
With a choice of models for unlicensed E-band and flexible
deployment options, the ElvaLink series is designed
for transparent high bit rate applications.
During
the promotional enrollment period, ElvaLink 92-95GHz
Fast Ethernet PPC-100100Mbps link kits will be offered
for a 3-month free trial use. Participants may include
governmental, educational, and commercial organisations
located in the continental USA. Within the US, the trial
operation of ElvaLink 92-95GHz Fast Ethernet PPC-100
links will be covered by ElvaLink experimental FCC license.
