Samsung launches 'Olympic Series' mobile phones

NEW DELHI -- Carrying forward its association with the Athens 2004 Olympics, Samsung India Electronics Ltd., recently launched three 'Olympic Series' mobile phones, the SGH D410, SGH E800 and SGH E810, respectively. These are high-end slide phones packed with a host of features.

These innovatively designed slide-up phones allow users to slide open the outside display smoothly with a gentle push. The D410 is Samsung's first slide phone. The E800 is said to be the first phone in the world to incorporate technology to cancel ambient noise. The E810 has a 180-degree rotating camera with video and flash that makes it easy to snap sporting action from any angle.

The D410 features a two-inch wide screen, 262K color TFT LCD, built-in VGA camera and high-resolution screen. This slide-type design phone responds instantly to the softest touch. The D410 incorporates an e-mail client enabling users to send and receive emails. It has an email storage capacity of 1MB and offers a choice of 64-chord polyphonic melodies.

The E800, with a built-in high resolution VGA camera with flash, allows users to shoot clear images. It has a 65K color high resolution TFT LCD and a VGA camera with flash. Users can shoot clear images even when in motion, especially sporting events. The photo CLIP feature in the E800 enables users to know who is calling as the phone displays the caller's picture as well as the name. It also offers an integrated speakerphone with echo cancellation technology, that allows one to speak freely while on the move. This is said to be the first phone in the world that incorporates technology enabling both noise cancellation and voice clarity.

The compact and stylishly designed E810 comes with a 128x160-pixel TFT LCD and supports 30-second video clips in the MJpeg format. It has a 180-degree rotating VGA/CMOS camera with video and flash. It supports MMS and comes with an internal antenna. The gleaming metal finished surface adds to its appeal.

The D410 will be available at all Samsung mobile privileged partners, Samsung DigitAll Home outlets and leading telecom/electronic retail stores. The other two models would be available shortly as the Olympic games progresses.
