MACH gears up to support 3G roll out in India
April 19

MACH, the provider of hub-based mobile communication solutions, announces that it has deployed its second global data clearing platform in Hyderabad, India. The multi-million dollar investment paves the way for mobile operators in India to leverage the full service capabilities of 3G without large CAPEX investments.

The MDSi platform will open up new services to mobile operators that are available with 3G, such as the MACH Rerating, Retail Roaming and Data Roaming Engine Solutions (announced at Mobile World Congress 2011). These types of solutions enable operators to offer bespoke tariffs based on the usage patterns of their subscribers or on the type of device a business wishes its employees to use abroad – such as a tablet – while also offering them a greater transparency of cost.

The new MDSi platform is location agnostic and complements the company’s existing global data clearing platform in Europe. Both platforms together can process billions of Call Data Records (CDRs) from around the globe, providing more than enough capacity to cope with the increasing usage and growing volumes of roaming transactions in India stimulated by intra-circle roaming and 3G roll-out. Roaming traffic in India is currently growing at a rate of 20% each month, and the ongoing 3G roll-out is likely to accelerate this significantly.
