Ericsson targets Bluetooth headsets, PC peripheral segments
SWEDEN
-- Ericsson Technology Licensing has launched the latest
addition to its Bluetooth suite family. The twin suites
are highly specialised for two markets with vast potential
-- Bluetooth wireless headsets and wireless human interface
devices (HIDs).
Wireless
keyboards and mice, generally referred to as wireless
HIDs, are two Bluetooth products making their way to
the market. Bluetooth HID suite is Ericsson's answer
to semiconductor companies intent on delivering reference
designs for Bluetooth keyboards and mice to original
design manufacturers and OEMs.
This
new suite provides Bluetooth radio, baseband and software
technology in ready-to-use, easily integrated, total
design solutions for fast time-to-market. The wireless
headset is the most widely used Bluetooth application
for mobile phones, and is quickly gaining ground as
an accessory for cordless phones, in-car handsfree systems
and voice recognition software.
To
achieve this, Ericsson has build its suites around its
highly integrated radio combined with baseband and software
that are minimised for the application at hand. In addition,
both HID and the headset suites feature support for
Bluetooth v1.2.
