FTTx access switch for telecom carriers
HONGKONG
-- NEC corporation has unveiled CX2510-MC, the FTTx
access switch for broadband networks, at ITU Telecom
Asia 2002. It will enable telecom operators to offer
Internet users with high speed access, and with more
variations in Internet access technology.
CX2510-MC
is a high-density optical fibre accommodation device.
It enables communication prohibition and minimum bandwidth
guarantee, which allows the operators to provide advanced
services. In fact the bandwidth control is applied to
all assigned users, and the minimum bandwidth allocation
service is applied to all flows.
CX2510-MC
is capable of maintaining media converters located in
a distant location. Its built-in media converter and
integrated mounting device makes it possible to provide
various public network services.
The product features include four types of QoS classes
support for each user which allow assignment of different
priority levels to each flow, the priority control between
users is processed based on Round-Robin scheme, FTTx
authentication and various configuration. The redundant
bridge segment can be configured following the spanning
tree function and the packets can be forwarded to the
designated ports by IGMP snooping function which checks
IGMP packets and connects to the multicast group.
The
features also include high security with restrictions
of port-to-port communication. It also restricts the
communication between different ports to protect users
from the unexpected illegal access.
NEC
plans to target the product at two categories of telecom
carriers. Firstly the telecom carriers which provide
broadband Internet access to ISP by FTTH, wireless LAN
etc. for subscribers. And secondly telecom carriers
which provide variety of public switching services,
such as VoIP, for enterprises.
