Innovative Computech allies with Nexans, Accton

NEW DELHI -- Innovative Computech Pvt. Ltd., an IT distribution company, recently tied up with Nexans, a leader in the cable industry, and Accton, a global outsourcing firm for networking and communication products. The firm will also be handling the sales and distribution of the products from the two vendors.

Accton Technology is a global outsourcing partner for networking and communication products, such as Ethernet switches, broadband gateways and wireless products. It provides complete, high-tech networking solutions, including ASIC design to chassis switch, and various integrated applied solutions. Nexans, formerly, Alcatel Cables & Components, brings an extensive range of advanced copper and fiber-optic cable solutions to the infrastructure, industry and building markets.

Innovative Computech will spearhead the concept of value-added distribution in India through this tie-up, which calls for a greater role in sales, marketing and services for IT products. G.S. Paul, managing director and CEO, Innovative Computech, said: "Through its value-added strategy, the company plans to establish a leading position for its vendors and itself by 2006 in the IT industry. We will try and follow a two-layer distribution model for our channel." According to him, the firm's enterprise division is likely to take its initial step only by December 2005.

To evolve a channel strategy, Innovative Computech would be targeting box movers, system assemblers, system integrators, OEMs, retailers and corporate resellers in the present product portfolio. Software products would be thrown in to make the package attractive. Paul added: "We will also tie up with both active and passive networking vendors as well as software vendors. We will tie up with all of the leading IT vendors in the country to establish a firm grip on IT distribution. We will establish a strong control in the mobile market, which has already been proved following our tie-up with BenQ one-and-a-half years back."

Innovative Computech plans to open 14 branch offices over the next 12 months. Some of these include Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, etc.
