Chandra Sekhar Bilugu, CEO, eGestalt Pvt Ltd. |
An Interview with Mr. Chandra Sekhar Bilugu, Chairman & CEO, eGestalt Technologies
IT security and disaster recovery capabilities are becoming crucial for the growth and success of any business in the present time. The threat of IT Security is something which can not be overlooked in any industry. This has indeed augmented the importance of Security Solutions and the demand of IT security market in India, which has further been accelerated by the growth of Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) segment.
eGestalt is a world-class leading products and technology solutions provider in the areas of IT-Security, GRC, eGovernance, digital infrastructure and cloud based on-demand services. With products like NetWitness, Safend and the recently launched SecureGRC, eGestalt is providing security solutions to Government departments, corporate enterprises and SMBs. |
Founded in 2007, eGestalt is headquartered in Santa Clara, California with presence in Asia-Pacific and Middle East. The company is now pioneering automation and on demand delivery of integrated IT Security and compliance management, through SecureGRC products and services.
Convergence Plus spoke with Mr. Chandra Sekhar Bilugu, Chairman and CEO of eGestalt Technologies about its new launch ‘SecureGRC’.
CP: What is the vision behind launching SecureGRC?
Mr. Bilugu: SecureGRCTM provides an ability to address all enterprise needs around security, compliance, and risk management through automation, integration of policy controls, and governance frameworks. It enables for the first time, integration of all risk management concerns pertaining to enterprise security and IT-GRC that are otherwise disjointed today. The solution is available on different innovative cost and ownership models. There is a ‘Software-as-a-Service’ (SaaS) model coupled with an on-premises deployment or a completely on-demand cloud based service subscription offering. This will enable up to 10x total cost of ownership reduction especially for the cost-conscious Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment.
CP: What competitive advantage the SecureGRC will provide to its clients?
Mr. Bilugu: SecureGRCTM is the world’s first completely integrated Security, IT-Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Management Solution. It offers key features that are pioneering and unique in the industry:
- Dramatic reduction in time for regulatory compliance through integration of Enterprise assets and IT processes across business units and geographies
- Complete end-to-end automation of compliance and security needs
- Unified dashboard for risk management to deal with all enterprise security and compliance management needs
- Innovative Cloud based, “Pay-as-you-grow” model - Innovative cost and ownership models enable unlimited scalability and agile delivery of features through a cloud based services model
- Low Total Cost of Ownership - Up to 10x Total Cost of Ownership reduction, affordable for world-wide markets, including the SMB segment
- Flexibility and Extensibility: Enables quick addition of new policies and compliance regulations into the framework with very little effort
CP: How is the SecureGRC solution targeting the SMB market?
Mr. Bilugu: Dealing with IT-GRC and security monitoring in the enterprises is a big concern. However, a large number of the SMBs are unable to afford an IT-GRC solution for Security Monitoring, as they are quite expensive, exposing such organizations to huge risks and liabilities.
SecureGRC is available as cloud-based offering or an on-premise solution or a combination thereof. The cloud based delivery model enables the cost-sensitive SMB market segment to adopt SecureGRC at a very low entry cost thereby enabling a “pay-as-you-grow” model. This enables them to:
- To comply with various regulations in a highly cost effective and timely manner
- Reduce dependency on manual processes through a single repository for regulations and standards, automated compliance related data gathering and automatic determination of compliance status from technology resources
- Provide an exhaustive audit trail for all compliances related actions in the entire life cycle
- Bridge the disjointed security management and IT-GRC processes to make risk management easier
CP: What are your further plans with the SecureGRC? What industries are you targeting for the solution?
Mr. Bilugu: SecureGRC, with its unique innovative product offering is an ideal solution for effectively reducing the cost of business risk which is targeted at small, medium, and large enterprises. Our future plan is to integrate all the required security technologies using a completely automated and low touch framework so that automation of all enterprise related security management and IT- GRC tasks are available through SecureGRC. SecureGRC will be a one-stop solution for all enterprise Security and Compliance management needs.
CP: Are you aiming for any India specific expansion plans in the future?
Mr. Bilugu: SecureGRC was launched in India on the 17th Feb 2010 at Bangalore with plans to launch the product in the Middle East and in the United States soon as well. As the solution is easily extensible and configurable, we hope to be able to implement the product across a number of verticals quickly. We are seeing a tremendous response to this solution as the recent amendments to the Information Technology Act, 2008 in India places a big corporate liability on enterprises to secure large amounts of customer data that is currently being handled by them.
In addition, SecureGRC has been customized for local and regional regulations as required by the RBI guidelines, NSE, BSE and the commodity exchange. SecureGRC will continue to build and provide most advanced solutions customized and targeted for the Indian market.
