Plintron Global Technology Solutions Private Limited (Plintron), a niche player in enterprise mobile convergence, and Lycamobile, a global leader in prepaid international calling cards, have announced their global partnership to lead the MVNA (mobile virtual network aggregator) market.

Plintron is a provider of mobile telephony-based platform and associated managed services for telecom, financial services and travel industries. It also provides technology and solutions for enterprises mobile convergence (EMC).

This partnership is built on Plintron's launch of Lycamobile's service and hosting on a private cloud-based mobile infrastructure.

In the last one year, Plintron and Lycamobile have been instrumental in commercialising the MVNA business model in the U.K. It will be a partnership of a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to enable mobile telephony-based services for other brands. This service will enable a range of brands to launch a mobile proposition to complement their core businesses in the most efficient cost and timeframe.

Mohan Kumar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Plintron, said the company planned to increase the staff strength to 1,000 by the end of next year from 450. The current partnership with Lycamobile would be initially started in Europe and Australia.

Milind Kangle, Group Chief Executive Officer, Lycamobile said, his company, which operates in 11 countries, intended to launch soon services in three more countries by the year-end.

Plintron is currently working on its platform with a leading global distribution system in travel industry to enable e-ticketing and travel in the U.K.
