| Ambitious plans for the LCD segment set the tone for Sony India’s growth strategy for Financial Year 2009. A leader in audio-visual entertainment products, the company plans to capture 30% of the Indian LCD market. Having recently unveiled new models in the S, V, W and Z of its BRAVIA LCD TV series, Sony India are confident that the combination of beautiful designs and powerful technologies would enable them to emerge as market leaders in this space. With technologies like Motionflow 200 HZ, Full HD, BRAVIA Engine 3, true to life images are reproduced by the new BRAVIA series. Surround sound technologies enhance the viewer experience. “We are not only focusing at enhanced display performance but even attaining the ultimate feel experience for our consumers; what you see and hear, is what you experience via BRAVIA,” said Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director, Sony India. A stunning achievement in design, the BRAVIA ZX1 is the world’s slimmest LCD TV measuring a mere 9.9 mm and weighing about 15 kg. Aside from its design and superlative audio-visual quality, the BRAVIA ZX has wireless HD, which enables users to enjoy Full HD quality without the mess of wires and cables. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) televisions surpassed the sales of CRT-based televisions in 2007. The LCD TV market size is expected to increase from 10,00,000 units to 15,00,000 units this year worldwide. Sony expects to sell 450000 units this year as compared to 280000 units in FY 2008.
