RFS to display chain of solutions at Convergence India 2003

NEW DELHI -- Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) will display a comprehensive set of 'end-to-end' RF solutions tailored to meet the unique requirements of the Indian wireless market at the forthcoming Convergence India 2003 exhibition.

Sukant Chakravarty, country manager, RFS India, said: "The Indian wireless communications market is experiencing unrivalled growth in every sector, with many operators, OEMs and installers struggling to meet the demand. To meet the fast turnaround, the Indian market demands total 'end-to-end' solutions from its RF technology suppliers. RFS designs and manufactures all components that make up the RF chain -- from base station to antenna, transmitter to tower, and from radio unit to microwave dish. We are ideally positioned to serve every aspect of the Indian wireless industry."

RFS's advanced cellular antenna remote electrical tilt (RET) control system -- the Optimizer RT -- will form the centrepiece of its Convergence India 2003 exhibit. Retrofittable to RFS's current range of cellular base station antennas, the Optimizer RT presents network managers with a uniquely scalable and future-proof means of realising accurate remote tilt without engaging riggers and climbing equipment.

This will be complemented by a display of RFS's growing family of cellular base station antennas -- a wide selection of base station antennas ideally suited to current-day Indian needs. These include fixed and variable electrical tilt antennas, dual and multi-band antennas for CDMA 800MHz, GSM 900/1,800MHz and emerging UMTS applications, plus the company's unique series of 'camouflage' cellular antenna solutions.

This year's Convergence India event will see the unveiling of RFS India's innovative 'GSM Site Express Service' base station kits, a purpose-built kit designed to minimise GSM base station roll-out time. The kit contains all the RF technology required to realise effective GSM cellular operations. The kit's contents include RFS's CELLFLEX foam dielectric feeder cable -- the world's leading low-loss foam di-electric coaxial cable brand, available in sizes ranging from 1/4-inch to 2 1/4-inch in diameter.

Other exhibits on the RFS Convergence India stand no. 11, Hall 416 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India, from 11 to 13 March 2003 will include:

  • The CompactLine and SlimLine microwave antenna range -- RFS's popular single and dual polarized microwave antenna series designed for short-haul point-to-point applications in the range of 6GHz to 40GHz.
  • Broadband access wireless local loop (WLL) products -- these include base station and customer premises antennas in flat panel, parabolic and sectorial formats.
  • Broadband TV broadcast panel arrays -- the well-known PHP series UHF broadband modular panel arrays, which are ideal for analog and digital TV broadcasting.
