CMC wins multi crore order from Central Bank
NEW DELHI -- CMC Ltd. has signed a multi-crore total
branch automation (TBA) order from the Central Bank
of India. This is one of the most significant breakthrough
orders among its recent wins.
The
TBA order covers the automation of 300 branches across
36 cities and involves the installation of a range
of IT equipment including state-of-the-art PCs, servers
and printers in every branch. This will enable the
bank to extend its IT-enabled services to a larger
base of customers across the country. CBI had earlier
selected CMC to setup its countrywide network. The
network provides interconnectivity to its regional
and branch offices for data and voice communication.
Raghuraman,
general manager--IT, Central Bank of India, said,
"CBI is one of the most IT savvy banks in the
country having a vision to fulfill its commitment
to people by stretching its services into the remotest
rural places."
R
Ramanan, deputy managing director and chief operating
officer, CMC Ltd., added: "We have been a value
adding technology partner of CBI for many years. With
CMC's superiority and proven experience in executing
large nationwide projects successfully across the
country, CMC provides a superior value proposition
to service to the remotest customer locations. In
addition, our association with software major Tata
Consultancy Services provides us with enhanced capability
both in the range and reach of our services. Since
the Tata takeover, the strength of CMC-TCS synergy
is evident from the large deals that the two companies
have been able to successfully win together."
