Sanbolic, ATTO Technology announce product certification
UNITED STATES -- Sanbolic, Inc. and ATTO Technology,
Inc. have announced the completion of the product certification
of ATTO's ExpressPCI FC 3300 host bus adapter (HBA)
series and the ATTO FibreCenter 3400R/D 2-Gigabit hub
with Sanbolic's Kayo volume sharing software and Melio
FS file system.
The
combination of ATTO's hardware and Sanbolic's software
provides customers with an easy-to-use SAN solution
with field proven technology. Kayo provides volume level
data sharing capabilities for customers in Windows based
workgroup environments, and is a seamlessly integrated
solution that allows multiple workstations to simultaneously
read and write to a centralised storage system.
Melio
FS is a highly scalable, shared journaling file system
that will provide heterogeneous operating system support.
It will be used in shared or clustered workgroup environments
where performance and simultaneous access to data is
a requirement of the workflow process, in storage administration
and scalable NAS environments where management and scalability
are of importance, as well as in intense grid-computing
applications handling heavy transactions, where reliability
and capacity are the main priorities.
The
ATTO ExpressPCI FC 3300 is a 2-Gigabit fiber-optic channel
HBA offering up to 400Mbps performance in full-duplex
mode. Only ATTO host adapters offer a unique blend of
hardware and software advantages that enhance the performance
and reliability of SANs. Efficiencies found in ATTO's
microcode allow the host adapter to quickly and reliability
deliver data to transactional-intensive enterprise applications
and bandwidth-intensive rich media applications so that
the highest level of corporate productivity can be reached.
The ATTO FibreCenter 3400 R/D is a 2-Gigabit zoned Fibre
Channel hub featuring advanced management, product modularity
and high availability.
Sherri
Robinson, markets manager, ATTO Technology, said: "By
working with leading ISVs like Sanbolic in ongoing interoperability
efforts, ATTO is able to improve customers' return on
investment by reducing the time and resources required
to set up and maintain their SANs."
Eva
Helén, vice president--business development,
Sanbolic, added: "ATTO's hardware technology is
a good fit for our products. As interoperability remains
a problem in storage area networking, extensive testing
is the only way we can guarantee solid product combinations
to our customers. We are pleased with the results of
ATTO and Sanbolic product tests. We will encourage our
customers to use the combined solutions for high performance
and reliability."
