ECI
adds next-gen voice over broadband to triple play platform
ISRAEL
-- ECI Telecom recently announced the expansion of Hi-FOCuST
family to include next-gen voice capabilities utilising
a single broadband platform. Using ECI's solution, carriers
can now provide direct TDM services via the broadband
network. The Hi-FOCuS broadband loop varrier (BLC) family
offers carriers a cost-effective transition to VoIP
and voice over broadband (VoB) by leveraging existing
infrastructure to provide advanced voice services.
ECI's Hi-FOCuS BLC broadband voice solutions provide
high-quality voice communications with increased convenience
and flexibility while reducing OPEX. Optimised to deliver
VoP networks, Hi-FOCuS BLC enables carriers to deliver
a wide range of voice services such as POTS and ISDN
telephony, leased lines, class services support and
more. The Hi-FOCuS BLC family is a true carrier-grade
solution that meets carriers' requirements for high-availability,
life-line and security. In addition, it meets various
deployment scenarios for residential and business users
with high scalability.
Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder, Infonetics
Research, said: "As carriers migrate to solutions
comprising VoB, products such as ECI's BLC platform
provide them with a solid argument and business case.
The Hi-FOCuS BLC can help carriers leverage current
investment in DSL while giving a path into their next-gen
broadband access network. The Hi-FOCuS BLC is part of
the worldwide BLC market, which is accelerating fast
from about $140 million in 2004 to over $1.4 billion
in 2007, as this new generation of BLCs displaces the
current generation of NG DLCs."
Ofer Reviv, vice president, marketing and sales support,
broadband access division, ECI, added: "The addition
of broadband voice capabilities to our Hi-FOCuS family
enables us to offer advanced voice solutions directly
and as part of our highly regarded and field-proven
broadband portfolio. ECI's Hi-FOCuS BLC solution satisfies
carriers' needs for a smooth migration to voice over
broadband solutions by offering low OPEX and combining
voice with other broadband services into one highly
scalable, secure, and redundant carrier-grade platform."
