HCL announces manufacturing of laptops in India

NEW DELHI -- HCL Infosystems, India's premier information enabling company and market leader in desktop computers, today announced its foray into the mobile computing space with the launch of India's first segment specific range of notebooks brand - HCL Leaptops.

HCL's Launch of Solution Centric Offerings Addresses the Application Requirement of Different Segments of Customers.

HCL Notebooks come with award winning HCL's Best Assured Services that give customers several convenient options of service anywhere in India. These options include real time tele-support for prompt resolution of soft issues, qualified technical online support through instant messaging and e-mail, built-in online access to easy to use, self-help guides/user manuals and with 'return to bench' offering to 'HCL Service Points' manned by skilled, well-trained support engineers for home and SOHO users.

For Enterprise users, onsite support is available at 300 locations across the country with the facility of stand by unit support at metros for the traveling professional. HCL Leaptops come with a comprehensive insurance coverage from theft, accidental damage, breakage and liquid spill, ensuring complete peace of mind to its users.

The new range of HCL Notebooks are designed as per the requirements of various target groups such as architects, engineers, doctors, info-kiosks, women, defence, etc.

Explaining the personalised attributes of the new range of notebooks, Rajan Rahi, national ,marketing manager, consumer PC, HCL Infosystems, noted: "There will be something for everyone like for instance the notebook for student has a special carry bag, which is designed to fit their daily routine and support their usage pattern. Similarly security features like data encryption, biometric authentication, two-factor authentication and anti-theft lock are introduced for the executives in the Govt, Corporate, IT & ITES and PSU sectors. For the knowledge worker HCL has launched India's first multimedia notebook powered by Microsoft Media Centre and for aspiring women executives/homemakers a sleek ultra thin and light laptop."

HCL is also the first brand in India to launch a Notebook powered by Windows Starter Edition. HCL also unveiled ruggedised notebooks, which confirm to MIL - STD 801F and are designed for computing in extreme conditions like -15 degree C to +65 degree C, rain, snow, extreme vibration etc. These offer great value to defence personnel in army, navy and air force, construction sites, personnel working in oil rigs.
