Ericsson signs cdma2000/1x contract with PT Telkomunikasi

INDONESIA -- Ericsson CDMA Systems has recently signed an agreement with PT Telkomunikasi (TELKOM) to supply its cdma2000/1x infrastructure solutions for 631,800 lines covering Jabotabek area (Jakarta-Bogor-Tangerang-Bekasi).

Ericsson will begin deployment immediately. Ake Persson, president, Ericsson CDMA Systems, said, "The compact design and industry leading performance characteristics of Ericsson's solution will help TELKOM get 3G services to its customers in the fastest and the most cost-efficient way." The introduction of cdma2000/1x will enhance the users' experience with high-speed data services of up to 153Kbps. It will also provide increased voice capacity for TELKOM.
