ECI's
Hi-FOCuS provides triple play over FTTP, DSL networks
ISRAEL
-- ECI Telecom recently announced that over one million
of its installed Hi-FOCuS broadband lines will be used
by carriers to deliver video over copper. ECI's customers
have the competitive advantage to offer new revenue
generating services, such as video-on-demand (VoD) and
multi-channel TV. Hi-FOCuS provides advanced broadband
and triple play over FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises) and
DSL networks, giving carriers the choice of delivering
advanced video services over any network topology.
Approvals
and licenses to deliver TV and video over broadband
networks were recently granted in several countries
including, France and Taiwan, which will enable the
mass deployment of video services. Hi-FOCuS offers features
such as TV and video channel streaming, multicasting,
as well as VoD.
Doron
Inbar, president and CEO, ECI, said: "In 2004,
demand for broadband video applications increased significantly
worldwide. The one million video lines we delivered
in 2004 demonstrate that carriers are looking to ECI
to enable delivery of new revenue generating video services.
We expect to continue to be a major player in this market
in 2005."
Successfully
deployed by major carriers worldwide, ECI's Hi-FOCuS
multi-service access gateway (MSAG) provides a comprehensive
solution for triple play. With an installed base of
over seven million lines of Hi-FOCuS broadband access
platform, ECI assists carriers to mass deploy video
for the expansion of new broadband IP services while
reducing initial and ongoing operational costs. ECI's
Hi-FOCuS MSAG's are high-density, high-end access gateways
that handle thousands of subscriber lines of all types.
