Bangalore IT.com to focus on BPO, e-security
BANGALORE -- The forthcoming Bangalore IT.com 2003
will be focusing on e-security, knowledge and R&D,
and business process outsourcing (BPO) with a larger
business audience expected to be present and showcase
their products. D.B. Inamdar, minister of state for
IT and Tourism, government of Karnataka, claimed at
a press conference in New Delhi that this year's event
would be larger and more interesting in every aspect
of the term, with the participation of some 350 companies."
He
added: "Bangalore IT.com is Asia's largest IT
event exhibiting a dazzling variety of the latest
in innovation and technology. It is our endeavour
to facilitate companies and governments to do business
in India and an event like this creates the ideal
environment to network." The technology exhibits
within the tradeshow will have special pavillions
such as BPO, spectrum, IT nations, STPI, communications,
IT states, software solutions and infrastructure.
This year, the event has added three new pavillions
-- e-security, IT giants, and knowledge and R&D.
The
minister added, "The e-security pavilion will
focus on the increasing requirement for data security
in the global marketplace. It would showcase the latest
technologies in this space and provide an opportunity
for corporations and solution providers to meet, discuss
and conduct business. The IT giants pavilion will
give large, multiservice corporations the opportunity
to showcase their strengths, and the knowledge and
R&D pavilion will be dedicated to education, training
and research."
The
minister disclosed that Bangalore was building an
IT corridor with the participation of a Singapore
company. The corridor would have an excellent world
class infrastructure, and a new township of 104 sq.
km. This would provide a hassle free infrastructure
for IT companies for not only working, but also living
and entertainment.
Vivek
Kulkarni, IT secretary, government of Karnataka, noted:
"Bangalore IT.com 2003 will be a platform for
companies from around the globe to participate in
large numbers, thus creating a unique opportunity
to do business among leading technology players across
IT and IT-related sectors. This event will once again
provide a comprehensive platform for the global ICT
industry to launch its latest products and services
and exchange information on pertinent market issues."

(STPI), added: "This year Bangalore IT.com 2003
will bring IT much closer to the common man -- creating
a platform and opportunity to secure perfect business
solutions. The event beckons global players to discuss,
explore and to showcase innovative solutions. It will
have a direct approach to garnering business for its
participants and keeping this in mind, we have set
aside a larger pavillion for IT nations, thereby creating
an opportunity for more countries to leverage the
IT potential that India offers."
Bangalore
IT.com 2003 will feature regular attractions such
as Students Internet World -- which will attract over
30,000 students and a large number of teachers. Students
Internet World offers attractive sponsorship opportunities
for telecom companies, PC makers, network companies,
software companies in education and training. Students
will have the opportunity to access high-speed Internet
facilities. The Kanteerava Stadium will host this
event from November 1-5, 2003.
