CommunicAsia2004 to feature cutting-edge tracks

SINGAPORE -- The return of CommunicAsia Summit is likely to complement Asia's premier ICT tradeshow, CommunicAsia2004, to be held at the Singapore Expo from 16-18 June. Focused on three essential areas of technology -- mobile communications, networks and satellite communications, CommunicAsia2004 will highlight key future trends in a range of topics -- from mobile content to 3G. The Summit will serve as a forum for top industry players to share experiences and identify next killer applications.

Seven technology tracks will be presented at the Summit. Targeted at senior managers, chief executives, chief technology officers and chief information officers, these include:

  • Mobile operator strategies: Realising 3G operators such as NTT DoCoMo and France Telecom review the value chain in 3G, share their experiences and discuss how operators can remain profitable in highly competitive markets;
  • Spotlight on China: Operators discuss threats and opportunities from convergent media, CDMA and the handset industry. Siemens and Bird share their secrets to success in the huge China market;
  • Broadband communications: Microsoft TV explores the potential of IPTV services as other speakers present sessions related to hot topics broadband fixed wireless access and Wi-MAX;
  • Satellite: Is satellite broadband a path to profit or highway to hell? Understand the benefits of deploying satellite broadband, how to reduce costs from utilizing satellite communications, exploit the enterprise satellite industry potential;
  • Next-generation networks: Trends and issues on NGN applications, packet voice networks, VoIP are discussed in this conference; and
  • Mobile content and applications: Speakers take a health check on mobile in Asia and review solutions for 3G, strategies for operators and the prospects for push-to-talk services and mobile TV in Asia.
