IPS Inc. to use Irdeto PIsys for its DTH platform
SINGAPORE
-- Irdeto Access announced its entry into the Japanese
market for digital broadcasting content protection at
the BroadcastAsia 2005 event. The company's Irdeto PIsys
for digital TV successfully complies with the Japanese
regulatory standards that require the use of the Multi2
scrambling algorithm and ARIB-compliant service information
(SI) playout.
As a result IPS Inc., a provider of a wide variety of
innovative telecommunications, consumer and broadcasting
products and services in Japan, will use the Irdeto
Access system to secure its Access TV (ATV) Direct-to-Home
(DTH) platform. It will roll out the new ATV service
to 9,000 subscribers.
Graham
Kill, CEO, Irdeto Access, said: "We are pleased
that Irdeto Access enabled IPS Inc. to receive the official
licence of the Japanese regulatory body and that we
were able to successfully complete and implement our
solution at IPS Inc. within months. This success is
an endorsement of Irdeto Access' capabilities and demonstrates
our flexibility to provide conditional access solutions
demanded by the market."
