Mobile 365's OCG provides billing solution for WAP

SINGAPORE -- Mobile 365, a global leader in mobile messaging and data services, recently announced the launch of its operator charging gatewayT (OCG). Designed as a bearer-independent billing platform, the OCG provides a global billing solution for WAP and web transactions. Building upon its experience processing millions of premium SMS (PSMS) transactions daily across an extensive global network of billing connections, it offers content providers an additional avenue through which to monetise their content.

The OCG enables content providers to charge for products and services directly to a subscriber's mobile phone bill. As a bearer-independent billing solution, it is designed to enable content providers to charge for content irrespective of the delivery method used. It acts as a billing aggregator, providing the content provider with a single API through which they can access operator-billing platforms worldwide. Each piece of content uploaded to the OCG can be charged at varying rates on an operator-by-operator basis.

Jorgen Nordin, vice president, product management, Mobile 365, said: "While PSMS continues to show robustness as a mobile payment channel, the OCG is the next evolution of m-commerce and an example of how Mobile 365's ingenuity helps drive this industry forward. By providing a common API to the myriad of global operator billing interfaces and handling the complexity and diversity of systems for content providers, we simplified the process of charging for mobile content."
