AudioCodes intros UMTS compliant media
gateway products
The
products enable OEM vendors and operators to develop
and deploy bandwidth efficient, high-voice quality and
open packet-based 3G and converged wireless/wireline
networks.
ISRAEL
-- AudioCodes Ltd., a leading provider of VoP technologies
and network products, recently extended its Stretto
converged (wireless and wireline) media gateway product
family to comply with the UMTS R4 and R5
standards. AudioCodes UMTS-enabled media gateways
and blades enable OEM vendors to build and offer next-gen
cellular networks, based on carrier-grade, feature-rich,
standards-compliant media gateways.
Using
AudioCodes UMTS-compliant media gateway products,
3G operators can cap investments in legacy TDM equipment
or proprietary technologies and build UMTS networks
that are cost-effective, future-proof, and support revenue-generating
applications. Operators of new networks are no longer
required to spend money on limited R99 solutions,
while established GSM operators can deploy R4-based
GSM infrastructure and plan on a smooth migration of
their R99-based networks toward R4/R5,
and ultimately to All-IP.
The
Stretto media gateways, SB-6310 Compact PCI (cPCI) media
gateway blade and TPM-6300 media gateway module support
UMTS-specific capabilities, and interfaces per the 3GPP
R4 and R5 standards.
