Viaccess reinforces its strong position in Asia
PARIS
-- Viaccess, a leader in conditional access for pay-TV
and protection of IP content over broadband networks,
recently announced two new contract agreements in Asia:
One agreement was with Hyundai Information Technology
(HIT) in Korea and the other was with Ho Chi Minh City
Television (HTV) in Vietnam.
Hyundai
Information Technology (HIT) was established in 1993
with the integration of the Hyundai affiliated computer
department. HIT was founded while assiduously trying
to establish the information infrastructure, which is
the foundation of Korea's competitiveness. It founded
the infrastructructure by providing information services
based on system integration (SI) of public corporations,
financial companies, and enterprises. The company offers
connection to television broadcasters in Asia, and provides
a wide range of facilities and services, including the
Viaccess conditional access technology.
Ho
Chi Minh City Television (HTV) will use Viaccess conditional
access technology to broadcast about 10 channels and
radios delivered in MMDS via the Pama Spol s.r.o. platform
to a potential of 10,000 subscribers.
M.
Seon-Bae Kim, CEO, HIT, said: "Viaccess is the
best partner for Hyundai in the field of content protection.
We selected it for its flexibility to fit our requirements
and the high level of security of its technology."
Jean-Pierre
Coustel, chairman and CEO, Viaccess, added: "Those
successes strengthen our position in Asia. As an independent
technology provider, we are looking forward to help
HTV and HIT build a prosperous business."
