Veraz launches call center network compression solution for multi-city contact centers

NEW DELHI -- Veraz Networks recently announced its new call center network compression solution for multi-city and multi-country call centers. When operating point-to-point communications between onshore and offshore contact centers, the high cost of international bandwidth reduces the advantage of global call center and BPO market even with the proposed international private line circuit (IPLC) rate reductions. Veraz's compression solution eliminates this obstacle by reducing the bandwidth requirements by over 90 percent, thus increasing the voice capacity on IPLCs by over 1,000 percent. This provides service providers and enterprise customers with an expected return on investment of less than six months.

This solution is based on Veraz's I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways that deliver the highest voice compression ratio on the market, enabling savings in bandwidth costs while maintaining high toll-quality voice expected by multi-national corporations. The solution combines the highest voice quality with the economies associated with VoIP, and provides a powerful tool to international operators and corporations to maximise the potential of their market through superior savings in operational costs. Moreover, internal redundancy feature guarantees the continuation of voice calls, fax and modem traffic under any network or system failure offering with five-nines system availability demanded from carrier-grade systems. Further, the in-band management of the multi-site I-Gate 4000 gateways from a centralised site allows for significant savings on operational costs.

The I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways incorporates Veraz DSP technology based upon over 12 years of in-house DSP experience and code development. The I-Gate 4000 minimises bandwidth requirements by implementing toll-quality compression algorithms such as G.729, while maintaining the level of voice quality that carriers demand.

Amit Chawla, executive vice president, global marketing, Veraz, said: "Our customers with multi-city and multi-country call centers should benefit from the significant costs savings that this call center compression solution provides. We are continuing our trend of offering a consistent string of cutting-edge solutions for our international customers that leapfrog the competition."
