NEW DELHI -- HCL Infosystems has recently achieved level 5 of the US-based Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) capability maturity model (CMM) for its professional services unit (PSU) at Noida.

The PSU is a software development and delivery unit of HCL Infosystems. Services offered include application development and maintenance, information strategic planning, e-business, software migration and maintenance. The unit has executed several projects for customers in the USA, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and India, and offers services on various technology platforms such as IBM, Microsoft, BEA, Oracle, iLog, FileNet, etc.

SEI evaluates software processes for development, re-engineering and maintenance across enterprises and assesses those at levels 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest. Organisations at level 5 are recognised as highly mature and at a stage when they are optimising processes, and consistently using measurement and analysis for improvement. Only 110 organisations hold this certification worldwide.

Yuvraj Bahadur, executive vice president, HCL Infosystems Ltd., said: "It is our constant endeavor to provide optimum quality services to all our clients. The SEI CMM level 5 certification is a recognition of our efforts, as well as a challenge to maintain the standards we set for ourselves."
