Mobile 365 enters India
NEW DELHI -- The mobile landscape evolves everyday. Today's subscribers use mobile handsets for a wide variety of communications and entertainment: text and picture messaging, downloading and playing music, filming and distributing video, collaborating with remote teams, purchasing goods and services, interactive gaming, and more. The communication possibilities are endless.
Currently, there are over two billion mobile phone users worldwide, and their number is growing by the millions. As the mobile phone's potential expands, it helps to have a mobile messaging partner with a global footprint for content and message distribution, financial clearing, settlement, and reporting -- all in one portfolio.
Mobile 365, the global leader in delivery, clearing, and settlement of mobile messaging services, was formed from the merger of InphoMatch and Mobileway.
Mobile 365 India has set up its office in Gurgaon. At the helm of this new operation is Mobile 365's India Country Manager, Kaustuv Ghosh.
Matthew Talbot, Managing Director, Asia, Mobile 365, said: "The Indian mobile market is growing at a fast pace and offers exciting opportunities for domestic mobile operators looking to monetise content, as well as international content companies seeking expansion into growth markets. We believe that mobile messaging and WAP services-such as music, games, and entertainment-will be key revenue drivers for the Indian operators over the next few years. We have chalked out our strategy for penetration in Indian markets and are quite upbeat about it."
"India's wireless telecom and mobile market is poised to grow at a fast pace, reaching nearly 200 million subscribers by 2008. This offers a huge opportunity for Mobile 365 to engage with mobile operators, portals, and TV broadcasters to offer advanced mobile solutions and message delivery," added Ghosh.
In addition to securing shortcodes for companies such as MSN for SMS Instant Messaging and Hotmail, Mobile 365 has also secured a shortcode-6365, which can be used to help content companies, brands, and corporations launch their services in the Indian market. The company also offers access to various operators, which enables services to be deployed on STK/OTA, as well as GPRS/BREW portals.
Commenting on what made Mobile 365 foray in to the Indian market, Kaustav said: "The strategic value of the Indian market cannot be overemphasised. As the world's largest mobile messaging company, being here is imperative."
"We hope to be the catalyst of mobile VAS growth in the next 18-24 months in India," confirmed Kaustav.
