mobile platforms
SWEDEN
-- Amoi Electronics, a premier handset brand in China,
recently selected Ericsson Mobile Platforms as its 3G
platform supplier. This license agreement underlines
Ericsson's leadership in W-CDMA.
Ericsson
Mobile Platforms has licensed its W-CDMA platform U100
to Amoi. The U100 is commercially proven, highly integrated,
rich multimedia-enabled dual mode mobile platform supporting
W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS.
Sandeep
Chennakeshu, president, Ericsson Mobile Platforms, said,
"We are pleased that Amoi, a premier brand and
one of the largest domestic manufacturers in China,
has selected our W-CDMA platform for its 3G product
portfolio."
Li
XiaoZhong, CEO, Amoi, noted: "The decision to select
Ericsson for our 3G portfolio is based on our experience
in working with Ericsson on GSM/GPRS and its leadership
in 3G. We were impressed by the U100's technical performance
and stability. We see benefits in Ericsson's architecture
as it enables re-use of our application suite and know-how
from our GPRS platform projects."
This

agreement covered G100 and G200 platform products, which
are complete GSM/GPRS platforms from Ericsson Mobile
