Sonim expands investment in Bangalore R&D center
INDIA AND UNITED STATES -- Sonim Technologies Inc.,
previously known as Myneton, Inc., a leading provider
of IP-based instant communication solutions for wireless
data networks worldwide, announced that its R&D
center in Bangalore is now home to over 40 world-class
engineers. Besides the Bangalore office, Sonim is headquartered
in San Mateo, California, and has offices in Italy and
the UK.

Sonim Technologies recently announced the closing of
$18.6 million in first-round funding. It has developed
end-to-end instant communication solutions that enable
carriers to launch real-time voice and text services
over wireless data networks. Sonim's open standards-based
architecture is designed from the ground up to ensure
high-availability and to meet the requirements of a
large-scale deployment. The thin client/smart server
solution provides SIP-based call control and presence
management, and leverages an extremely efficient transport
protocol based on RTP to deliver superior quality real-time
voice over wireless data networks. Sonim's instant communication
server supports open specifications for mobile instant
messaging and presence services, enabling interoperability
with other the messaging infrastructure.
