BPL Mobile launches India's 1st Multimedia Messaging
Service
MUMBAI
-- BPL Mobile recently launched India's first Multimedia
Messaging Service (MMS). BPL Mobile's subscribers with
MMS-compatible mobile handsets can send multimedia messages
at touch of a button to anywhere in world. Those without
MMS-compatible mobile handsets, can receive their multimedia
messages either on their e-mails or as an SMS notification
on their existing handsets. In addition to all these,
BPL Mobile will create a photo library on its web site,
from where subscribers can compose MMS messages and
send them to designated mobile phone numbers.
At
an introductory offer of Rs.199 per month, BPL Mobile
will provide 100 MMSs (outgoing - incoming will be free)
besides unlimited Mobile Internet access to its subscribers
on their mobile-phones. After the complete of 100 MMSs,
each outgoing MMS will cost Rs.3 per message.
India
is the fourth country in Asia Pacific to commercially
launch the MMS. BPL Mobile is the only operator in the
country possessing a robust GPRS network to deliver
MMS to its subscribers.
