SoftBrands launches lean manufacturing SCM solution
INDIA -- SoftBrands, one of the world's leading ERP
and supply chain management (SCM) software providers,
has recently announced the launch of DemandStream,
a supply chain execution system based on the concept
of lean manufacturing.
DemandStream
is an internal and external supply chain-execution
system that enables demand-pull scheduling and material
flow throughout an enterprise-wide supply chain. The
modular design that makes up DemandStream can be implemented
as a total system that will manage the entire supply
chain in a demand-pull environment or the modules
can be implemented over time as part of a migration
to either demand-pull or lean manufacturing, or both.
The
product can help organisations to transit from ERP
to the concept of lean manufacturing. It enables firms
to use both ERP (forecast based scheduling) and lean
(pull systems) simultaneously. It can be integrated
with any ERP system as well.
