Thuraya expands into East,
SouthEast Asia
GENEVA
-- Thuraya Satellite Communications announced yesterday
that it introduce its satellite service to East and
SouthEast Asia, thereby expanding its service to nearly
hakf the globe. Following the successful launch of the
satellite on June 10 this year, and the smooth transfer
of its traffic from Thuraya 1 to Thuraya 2, it has decided
to relocate the Thuraya 1 to cover East and SouthEast
Asia, a measure that will considerably expand its growth
growth opportunities into new market segments.
The newly added coverage will include China, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia,
Vietnam, Japan, Burma, Myanmar, Lao Democratic People's
Republic, Mongolia, the Korea, Papua New Guinea, Brunei
and parts of the Russian Federation that were previously
not included in Thuraya's initial coverage.
