This
is another milestone in global business development.
According to renowned telecom consultant, Dittberner
Associates, by the end of the Q3-03, Huawei's U-SYS
had been successfully commercialised in over 10 countries
and regions, including China, UK, Hong Kong, and Brunei,
earning 13 percent of the global market share. This
signifies that Huawei has established its leadership
advantage in the NGN market following its record deployment
of 100 million ports of C&C08 digital switches
worldwide.
Xu
Wenwei, executive vice president, Huawei Technologies,
said: "Huawei has benefited from joining forces
with customers to drive innovation and forge win-win
partnerships. Working with customers in this way has
deepened our understanding of IP networking. In the
NGN area, we have fostered good partnerships with
worldwide operators, co-operating extensively on network
planning and service development to standard compliance."
Jiang Lintao, chief engineer of Telecom Research Institute
under MII and chairman of IP & Multimedia Technical
Committee, added: "China's telecoms industry
holds great respect for the exploration and research
of NGN telecom solutions and the industry has well-established
NGN standardisation. The NGN will be an IP telecom
network, integrating the design advantages of Internet
and telecom networks. In the development of NGN and
its service offerings, Huawei is in the lead and has
a lot of valuable products and experience to benefit
other countries."
Dittberner's president, Donald, predicts that in the
coming five years, the market for NGN will exceed
US$18 billion. This presents enormous opportunity
for new market entrants. In the traditional telecom
field, Huawei has turned out to be a leader despite
being a late comer, forging a unique competitive edge.
In the dawn of the NGN era, Huawei will surely make
a significant impact on the industry.
