MXIE from Zultys: A Powerful Desktop VoIP Tool

BANGALORE -- Zultys' recently launched MXIE, a software that runs on a user's desktop computer and communicates with any Zultys Enterprise Media Exchange, or IP PBX system. Used by individuals as well as call center agents, MXIE provides convenient access to hundreds of features on the MX, thus improving interaction among co-workers, partners, and customers.

With the MXIE software, users can configure their presence and view the presence of others, send instant messages, set call handling rules, access voice mail and fax mail, make and terminate calls, and bind the software application to a phone. Users can use the PC to perform most functions. For example, you can transfer a call to another user by dragging and dropping the call indication onto the user's name.

The MXIE software provides a built-in editor allowing users to configure routing options for their incoming calls. A user can set up call handling rules based on caller ID, presence, date range, day of week, time of day, holiday, or location. Rules can be enabled and disabled dynamically, and multiple rules can run simultaneously in a hierarchical order, allowing users to define the most efficient means of routing a call through. Users can even specify that certain calls should be transferred to a number outside the enterprise, for example a mobile phone.

The MXIE software can efficiently handle the sending, receiving, and forwarding of faxes. The received date, time, and caller ID can be previewed before even opening the fax image. Double-clicking on the fax preview item launches your PC's standard TIF viewing application. A user can view and print a fax message from his PC, leave the message stored on the MX system, drag the fax into an email message, or move a copy of the fax into a local directory on the PC. Each fax message is saved in a standard TIF format, which preserves the portability of the message. A user can forward the fax to others for viewing and printing without requiring any special viewing software or application.
