Jiangxi selects openTV for cable network

CHINA -- Jiangxi Cable Network, China's only full provincial cable network, has selected OpenTV and its local partner, Beida Jadebird Huaguang (Jadebird), to build a network offering digital and interactive TV services to the cable provider's approximately 3 million subscribers.

Jiangxi Cable Network's digital TV (DTV) services are expected to be available in three months and would be the precursor to interactive TV (iTV) services. It represents the fourth network in China to have selected OpenTV after CBSat, Shanghai Cable and Henan Cable, and further strengthens OpenTV's leadership position in China's rapidly growing digital cable TV and iTV market.
