Uniwill's voice box chooses CSR's BlueCore

UNITED KINGDOM -- Uniwill Computer Corporation has recently launched a Bluetooth Voice Box, Bluetooth-enabled by CSR's BlueCore single-chip Bluetooth solution.

Connected to a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, Unwill's voice box, model B090S1, comes with a microphone and speaker to enable in-car handsfree operation even when the mobile phone is in your bag or pocket. The voice box is due to go on sale for $59 in Europe and North America from Q3 2002.

The compact 62.5x92x25mm voice box, made possible due to CSR's compact single-chip design, is compliant with Bluetooth v1.1 and takes its power from the car's cigarette lighter. No other connection is required to establish a wireless in-car network so no complicated installation is required. The voice box is a class 2 Bluetooth device, which means it is possible to connect with mobile phones within a 10-metre range.
