Microsoft launches first localized server product

NEW DELHI -- Microsoft Corp. India Pvt Ltd recently launched the Sharepoint portal server, the first localized server version to address the growing need for knowledge management across all the verticals.

WebDunia, a Microsoft partner, displayed the Hindi and Kannada enabled interface for the Sharepoint portal server. Microsoft also announced plans to extend the Indian language support of nine languages currently available on Office XP to Bengali, Malayalam, Assamese and Oriya in the next 12 to 18 months.

It will also launch the Indian-language-enabled content management server, which is aimed at the Web content market. The firm is working closely with several local partners and ISVs to deliver a range of business solutions for all kinds of users that are Indian-language-enabled. These solutions include smart tags, file-tracking applications, keyboard drivers, transliteration engines and vertical solutions.
