Sun announces new software business model
INDIA
-- Sun Microsystems India recently announced Suns' new
software business model and new Sun ONE products. The
company claimed that the integration of Sun ONE Application
Server with Solaris 9 Operating Environment software
and the launch of the new Sun Portal Server 6, combined
with the complete Sun ONE Application Server 7 product
line, will enable customers to take advantage of the
power of Sun's end-to-end infrastructure for delivering
services on demand.
Sun Microsystems said that the Sun ONE architecture
is the integration of the company's portfolio of software
products. It further added that Sun ONE architecture
provides developer tools and resources to accelerate
the development of service-enabled IT infrastructures.
The new Sun ONE Developer Platform offers developers
an in-depth visual framework for better coordination
among development teams. Sun also announced the availability
of the release 4 of its Sun ONE Studio developer tools,
which include support for end-to-end Web services, spanning
mobile to enterprise development.
Sun further informed that its India Engineering Center
contributed a significant portion in the development
and deployment of Sun ONE products and technologies.
