Molex launches PowerCat 6 angled patch panel

BANGALORE -- Molex Premise Networks recently released the PowerCat 6 angled patch panel as part of the Molex PowerCat 6 copper range of product. The PowerCat 6 Angled Patch Panel is available as 1U 24-port or 2U 48-port units for category 6 installations that are either high density or utilise extensive side and end-of-the-rack cable management. The patch panel highlights the innovative design of its DataGate Plus jack and meets all industry standards performance requirements.

As an alternative to non-angled product, the PowerCat 6 angled patch panel is designed for installations where space is at a premium. The angled design enables the correct patch cord bend radius to the rack and minimises the need for horizontal management, making it an ideal solution for high-density applications. The patch panel is ETL verified for cat 6-component compliance. It has patented IDC V-shaped contacts that flex rather than fatigue when terminated and pointed IDC towers to speed termination and enhance cable retention. With individually removable patch panel ports, the PowerCat 6 angled patch panel has patented spring-loaded shutters that prevent incomplete mating and protects ports from dust and contaminants.

Dual color-coding allows for 568A/B wiring configuration and RJ45 patch panel ports are RJ11 compatible. It has molded category identification on each patch panel port face with the option of port identification icons and front and rear port labeling as well as patch panel identification labeling. The PowerCat 6 angled patch panel can be terminated using industry standard punch down tools with rear cable management provided to support incoming cables.

Molex Premise Networks is also a partner with ETL SEMKO, a division of Intertek Testing Services Ltd, the world's largest product and commodities testing organization.
