UGS expands operations in India
NEW DELHI -- UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, recently announced its plans to expand operations in Pune, with a significant increase in operations for development–related activities, and the addition of new capabilities for service delivery that will complement the existing operation. The company currently has sales operations in Bangalore, Pune and New Delhi.
UGS would be looking at hiring more than a dozen software professionals by this year end, and also delivering technology-centric implementation services to customers across Americas/ Europe and AP.
Jim Milton, executive vice president, global sales and services, UGS, said: “We are looking at India as an important source of software development and service. The whole world acknowledges the tremendous amount of talent, particularly the engineering and the software development skills available in India, and we want to leverage this in our organisation.”
Hans-Kurt Lübberstedt, executive vice president, Asia Pacific, UGS, said: “Indian manufacturing companies realise that PLM is more important IT initiative than any other initiatives like ERP, SCM, CRM. This is evident from the increased adoption and interest shown in these software solutions.”
